The Kibera Slums

The Kibera slums of Nairobi are the largest slums in Africa and the 2nd largest in the world.  Population estimates range from 170,000 (2009 Kenyan census) to 1 million or more people.  Kibera is considered an illegal settlement and therefore is not provided with city services.  It is divided into villages.
